Reviews
A movie theater that looks like the 1920s but is so well maintained that everything looks new. The projector quality is very good, the seats are comfortable and it has a good sound system. The only downside is that they do not sell food.
Recently renovated. Spectacular seats and the audio was otherworldly!!! No market for drinks and snacks.
Very good movies selection but chairs not so comfortable
Historical cinema in town.
Go there if you want to watch uncommon movies also.
The only place in Torino where they show the original undubbed versions.
Theatre that doesn't normally show mainstream films.

I think it was recently renovated because it seems more welcoming than I remembered. I have not tested the toilets. Room with good sound and very comfortable seats
A couple of months ago I wrote an enthusiastic review of the National cinema. Everything I appreciated still applies and I leave it at the end of this update. The only thing that is no longer valid is the rating: the 5 stars become just 1 because it is not acceptable for the cinema to dictate where I sit. I don't know whether it's the cashier, an algorithm, Chat GPT or a medium in direct connection with Auguste Lumière who chooses, but it doesn't matter. I always choose the front rows, so I'm not willing to pay to sit... well, does anyone know how the seats are assigned?
To watch a film with binoculars from the last row I prefer to wait for it to arrive on Netflix, at least I save money. No, that's not true: I'm not waiting for Netflix, I'm going to another cinema.
If every point in the room is fine for you, then the National is excellent. However, if you think like me, run away.
The review at the end of 2023:
Cinema recently renovated with the creation of two new rooms in addition to the two existing ones. The new armchairs in rooms 1 and 2 are impressively comfortable and, as if that weren't enough, they are so beautiful that I would buy three of them to put at home. Due to a super-crowded screening (the documentary on Giorgio Gaber) I found myself sitting in the front row in room 2: a slightly stiff-necked view, but the seats have... footrests! (I'd like three of those at home too)
The comfort of the room must not overshadow the excellent quality of the projection systems and, above all, the excellence of the programming: films of all genres (in the same week as Gaber I also saw "The Killer" with Michael Fassbender) , but always of excellent quality. And, the icing on the cake, they are often offered in the original language. Well done!
